5 Winners For Detroit Lions Training Camp
The Detroit Lions training camp is in full swing for the 2022 NFL season. So far in training camp, many players have shown they have risen to the occasion and perform well in practice. This article list five players who are winners after three days of practice.
Aidan Hutchinson has shown so far in training camp why he was selected with the second pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Hutchinson has beaten Penei Sewell on the line of scrimmage with his quick burst resulting in a wood-be sack. Every day as practice goes on, Hutchinson continues to be the main edge rusher who has consistently made noise on the defensive line.
Lions Defensive Backs
The Detroit Lions defensive backs have performed well in training camp after three days. Will Harris has been converted to cornerback and is competing for the #2 job with Jeffrey Okudah. Okudah has stayed healthy. Health is key for Okudah and his season. Okudah staying healthy is a major victory.
One of the biggest winners so far in the Detroit Lions training camp is Quintez Cephus. In the first two days, Cephus has made eye-popping catches that are extremely difficult to haul in. He has made big play touchdowns and consistently has beaten the defender who is covering him. Quintez Cephus is in a battle for the #6 WR spot, if he continues, he should lock that spot up to make the 53-man roster.
Quarterback Jared Goff has performed well in training camp. Goff has commanded the offense, resulting in successful two-minute drills and converted touchdowns in the red zone drills. Most importantly, Jared Goff has been on the same page with wide receivers DJ Chark, Quintex Cephus, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Josh Reynolds. His ability to learn this new scheme has been better than expected.
Lions Running Backs
Yes, I lied. This list is really six players. Lions’ running backs D’Andre Swift and Craig Reynolds have been amazing. Swift made a jaw-dropping catch in the end zone for a touchdown and has displayed his soft hands out of the backfield wreaking havoc on the defense. Reynolds has been solid in the passing game and consistently has repped as the #3 RB for the Lions. Swift looks to have a breakout year and Reynolds seems to have locked in his roster spot.
