The Detroit Lions are facing the Atlanta Falcons’ week 1 preseason game on Friday. Preseason is known as not a big factor in anything on how a season plays out but for the Lions, this is not the case. The Lions have so many camp battles taking place and preseason is a good way to see what players stick out when the lights are on.

One of the biggest battles in training camp is the No.2 CB position. CB Will Harris and Jeffrey Okudah are battling to see who will be starting for the Lions opposite of Amani Oruwariye. This battle has been raging all training camp and who will eventually be a starter, will be vital to the Lions’ success in the back end of the defense.

Continuing with battles, the Lions’ Safety battle is very intriguing. Can DeShon Elliot stay the starter opposite of Tracy Walker or will another player like Kerby Joseph be able to show life vs. the Atlanta Falcons? WIth the starters from both teams playing in the first quarter, the coaching staff will have an opportunity to see who stands out positively or negatively.
