BREAKING: Lions Sign DL Isaiah Buggs

The Detroit Lions have filled the hole that former Lions DL John Penisini left after retiring this season. According to NFL Networks Tom Pelissero, the Detroit Lions have signed DL former Steeler Isaiah Buggs.

Buggs is a former sixth-round pick with three years of experience being a rotational player on the defensive line. Buggs has made 29 game appearances and started six games for the Steelers last season.

Buggs is a big lineman at 6-foot-3, 295 pounds being a true replacement for John Penisini to mad the interior of the Lions’ defensive line. Buggs brings a physical aspect to the Lions’ interior who is a powerful player coming from Alabama. At Alabama, he recorded 13.5 tackles for loss, including 9.5 sacks. He is a versatile player who can play edge if need be in certain packages but primarily will play interior for DC Aaron Glenn.
